Producing art is at once a highly personal indulgence and one of the most communal activities humans indulge in. I have always drawn and painted but it wasn’t until I discover printmaking that I found something I was willing to share. Screen printing is a pretty basic expression of that art form but it’s relatively simple, fun and capable of a great variety of outcomes.
I started working in glass again in 2016 after having dabbled in it back in the late 90s. After scouring Craig’s List and Kijiji I eventually built up a nice stock of glass and proceeded to indulge myself in art of a myriad of shapes sizes and colours. Along the way I discovered the incredible difficulty of capturing photographic images of glass and light. Suffice it to say the images shown here pale in comparison to the originals.
